The Lake District National Park is located in the north-west of England and it represents the largest of England's National Parks. The Lake District National Park also includes a considerable part of the West Coast with many beaches. People have been using the area for at least 12,000 years and in 1951 it was designated as a National Park to protect and preserve it for future generations.
